Welcome to S/V Mohini!
We used to have a 3-bedroom house, permanent jobs, and a dream of adventure. Now we live on a 40-foot catamaran named Mohini and are exploring the world with our two young children.

How did this happen? It's a long story involving our love for each other, our passion for nature and wild places, and our ongoing quest for personal freedom. The progression of events that's guided us here hasn't been smooth or simple, but we've discovered deep wells of faith, determination, and resilience along the way. We know we are where we're supposed to be and are exhilarated to be living each day to the fullest. We even love the 2-minutes showers. No, really!
Sailboat life gives new meaning to navigating uncertainty and throws every day's precariousness into sharp relief. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. We are learning to know ourselves, trust each other, and deepen our relationships with our children like never before. Along the way there are stunning vistas and sailing off into the sunset (yes, we've actually done that). But there are also costly mistakes, the existential questioning (ok, terror) that comes with uprooting everything you've ever known, and the inescapability of being completely surrounded by water.

It has been a long-time goal of ours to set up a blog where we can honestly share our family's journey--the beauty and unexpected joys along with the inevitable hardships. So please join us as we live, play, work remotely, explore, and educate our children on S/V Mohini.
